I was really happy with our visit from Jim White, our District Assistant Governor. We met after the meeting was over. He asked me what projects we have done or which we currently are involved in. As I started listing them, he expressed how pleased he is with our accomplishments. I know that I may have missed something but here is a list of what I gave him.
 
-Hand to Hand (providing food for children's weekends, Comstock Park Stoney Creek
-Senior prom - Assisted with setup and take down
-Encouraging reading with 3rd graders at Comstock Park Pine Island, weekly
-Little libraries (3 at various locations)
-The "Buddy" friendship bench- Stoney Creek
-Promoted Rotary and distributed popcorn during parade in Comstock Park
-Feeding America, sorting food products for distribution
-Bell ringing for Salvation Army at Walmart
-Strawberry Creek clean up, Alpine Township
-Santa Claus Girls Delivery
-York Creek funding for summer program
-Support & participation in Community Outreach (org.of Rotary, schools, churches, & non-profits that assist  residents.
-Scholarships (Seniors) at Kenowa Hills and Comstock Park and Life Leadership training opportunities for Juniors
-Wahlfield Park Community Build playground (2006)
-York Creek Kaboom Playground (2010)

He knew about the Grotto Park restoration at the Veteran's Home (2008). I am so proud of our club. Let’s have great BBQs so we can do even more.Thank you for all you do and your friendship.

UPDATE ON FRANK VIETZE
Frank Vietze is recovering from his stroke and he and Barbara welcome visitors.  They currently live at Boulder Creek Assisted Living #37,  6070 Northland Dr. NE, Rockford, 49341. They will be moving at the end of summer to Mass. near their daughter. Phone and email will remain the same presently but phone is better. Please send a card and/or visit, but call first.
