It’s hard to believe that it's already August! Not only does this mean a new school year resumes in a few weeks, it also means our second and last Rotary BBQ of this year is right around the corner. We’re anticipating a large turnout with our BBQ kicking off Mill Creek Days.

Thanks to those who have already signed up to work at the BBQ. The sign up sheet will be circulated again at our Club Assembly on Thursday, however, you don’t have to sign up to volunteer. My hope is that every Rotarian will make some time to participate in this important fundraiser for our club. 

Two special guests will be joining us at the BBQ. District 6290 Governor Breanna Scott and Assistant Governor Paula Jastifer also plan to don an apron and hat as we work together to make this our most successful BBQ to date.  

The Comstock Park Rotary Club BBQ is one of the many things that makes our club special. The BBQ puts our club front and center in our community. We can and should be proud of the tradition this has become for our club and community. 

The BBQ is also a great time for fellowship within our club. I encourage you to spend time during the BBQ to learn about at least three Rotarians that you might know only by name. I’m confident you’ll find some things in common beyond our collective interest to put Service Above Self. 

Spread the word. We’re firing up the grills on August 8th. Chicken, ribs, sausage and fellowship will be served.
