President's
Announcements with Hugh Lavery:
– Bob Urquhart has been in Rotary for forty two years.
– Last Board meeting was one of the best HL has experienced
– Rotary Youth Exchange – we have another outbound student Psalm Talamo from Secret Harbour (Mandurah) who we will sponsor, leaving in January 2025
– Board has determined that our fees will be $400 pa.
– We have awarded a RYLA scholarship to Jamie Brewington from Tom Price. It doesn't preclude us from awarding more RYLA's in Geraldton.
– All Rotary 'Fit for Purpose' documentation has been completed.
– Landor Races has 33 volunteers. We do need more Bar Managers. Peter Sukiennik is the contact.
– There is the possibility of a Night meeting on 25/9.

Rotary Conference planned for Kalgoorlie in March 2025.
Geraldton Greenough State Emergency Service 40th anniversary celebrations.
Our service based attitude around Radio Auction and RWADE – driver education.
Thomas Wellstead represents us in Rotary 4 Way speech competition on September 5th. STOP PRESS Thomas was RUNNER -UP. Well done Thomas !!

Sofia says school has been great. She visited Coalseam park, near Mingenew, to School has been going well.
Raffle and Rotary Corner:
The raffle is won by Josh Fraser with the Jack of Hearts.
Hugh Lavery has a couple of documents we might like to study. One is a record of everyone in our club who is on leave. There are many! The second is every member's years of service to Rotary. :-)
Fines Session with Barry Dring:
What is the highest mountain in Australia. Nearly everyone responds with Mt Kosciuszko although few can spell it correctly. The truth is that the highest mountain in Australia is on Heard Island and is Big Ben.
