Next Board meeting will be held on Thursday 29th August from 5pm – 6pm at 11 Askew St, Geraldton.
HL attended District Monthly Board meeting. Was impressed by their meeting format, particularly their reports 1) for noting 2) for discussion 3) for decision.
Also attended Community Group Growth Plan (Oceans 11) which is composed of northern clubs – Batavia, Ellenbrook, Greater Geraldton, Hillarys-Wanneroo, Joondalup, Karrinyup, Mindarie, Mt Lawley, North Perth, Osborne Park, Scarborough.
Floor Announcements:
Barry Dring: So far his son has collected 5,000 sets of used reading glasses for Bali. Barry is collecting on his behalf. All old glasses accepted.

Went to Kalbarri in the rain... learnt to play poker; saw whales; walked the Loop.
Raffle: 5 of Clubs is drawn – Hugh Lavery's card, he declines the bottle of wine and there is a redraw with the Jack of Diamonds securing the red grape juice for Viki Fennell.
Rotary Corner with Hugh Lavery:
Hugh explains the function of the Rotary Community Groups which are developing growth and leadership plans for clubs.
All clubs need volunteers to function at their community events. It essential that some of these volunteers are from younger generations. If this doesn't occur many clubs will fold. Our own included.
It is important to become digitally literate.
There are more follow meetings to come with Rotary Community Groups.
