NESAEA (Nes) is baaack .... after 12 months Rotary Youth Exchange in Germany. I t looks like she had a wonderful experience and we look forward to catching up. From Kiera, Nes flies back into Perth on Saturday 28 December in the early evening. We're planning on a couple of nights in Perth before heading back to Geraldton for New Year. We won't be in Geraldton for some of January as we've got more holiday plans. But we do have a rough idea of when we will be at home though and I know that if it coincides with club meetings, Nes will be very keen to come and see everyone, and also set aside a date for her presentation to the club some time before she heads down to start uni in mid February.

| A little bit of relaxing. Nes arrived home safe and sound last night (28th December). She'd had a good flight and had managed some sleep too, so she spent a bit of time once we were home unwrapping her Christmas presents, and also had a swim in the pool.
I'll ask Jill or Rochelle who were at the airport if they can share a photo they took of the four of us at the airport, as I don't have any on my phone. Here are a few photos but the quality isn't great.
Hooray! We're thrilled she's home.

President's Report - Hugh Lavery:
Australia’s worst naval disaster occurred on 19 November 1941 when HMAS Sydney II was lost following a battle with the German raider HSK KORMORAN, in the Indian Ocean off the Western Australian coast. Geraldton was the last port visited prior to her demise. The loss of the SYDNEY with its full war complement of 645 sailors remains etched in the nations psyche. The KORMORAN was also sunk, but 317 of its crew of 397 survived. The fate of the Sydney remained one of Australia’s greatest wartime mysteries until the location of the wreck in 2008.
