Laian's Restaurant: RCGG Rotarian Nadeem Turkia is in Darwin getting treatment for cancer. In the interim Phil Martin and his partner Rhianna are helping to run Laian's Restaurant. Please support them.
Fit for Purpose: Hugh proposes we have a hands on project once a month. Please give some thought as to what this could be.

Jerry Clune, Mayor of the City of Greater Geraldton.
One of five children, Jerry grew up at Bringo inland from Geraldton. After school he attended Muresk Agricultural College and then returned to the farm. Along with his wife Linda they have four children, three boys and a girl.
He has spent over ten years in local government and was the Deputy to the former Mayor. He describes the current council as cohesive. The CGG covers 10,000 sq kilometres and is home to over 40,000 people.

President's Report - Hugh Lavery:
Australia’s worst naval disaster occurred on 19 November 1941 when HMAS Sydney II was lost following a battle with the German raider HSK KORMORAN, in the Indian Ocean off the Western Australian coast. Geraldton was the last port visited prior to her demise. The loss of the SYDNEY with its full war complement of 645 sailors remains etched in the nations psyche. The KORMORAN was also sunk, but 317 of its crew of 397 survived. The fate of the Sydney remained one of Australia’s greatest wartime mysteries until the location of the wreck in 2008.
