Eastsound’s Michell (Mitch) Marshall has been co-owner of The Office Cupboard, along with her husband, Doug and their English Cream Golden Retriever, Savannah, for 13 years. As President of the Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce in 2012-2015, she established the Shakespeare Festival and the Bird Watching Nature Festival for the Chamber.

In the spring of 2017, Mitch established a non-profit organization, Woman in the Woods Productions. The mission is to promote an appreciation of racial and cultural differences through artistic expression. Mitch will engage with us, offering her thoughts on the following questions: Is Orcas living in a bubble? Why is the Woman in the Woods so important to people, especially people of color on the island? What are some reactions from students on the island?
