President David opened the meeting at 6.30pm on 2nd July.

Chris Cole advised that his nephew Stephen Plain, of Seven Summits fame, will be our Guest Speaker on 6th August.
Brian English advised that grandson Tim sees his football future is in Melbourne and hopes to get a run this week.
Tony Chien reported on his Rotary Fellowship Exchange to Seattle and presented three club flags to President David.

Good year for donations. Full report later.
Secretary:
Completing an application for Presidential Citation. Hoping to be successful.
Treasurer:
Finalising accounts for FY end. All donations have been made. Subscription notices will be sent out once ratified by the Board. Still seeking sponsors for the Cottesloe Golf Day.
Attendance:
43 members plus 4 makeups for 85%
Club Service:
The new website will be active next week and will be the primary site. Further website training before next week’s meeting.

Community Service
Rotary shopping bags will be delivered at future meetings, once paid for.
Vocational Service
Meeting 9th July 1715 at NGC. David Smith reminded of the visit to the WA Ballet Centre in Maylands on Wednesday 28th August 1700-1900. The 40 places have already been filled, but names can be placed on a reserve list.
Rotary Foundation and International Service
Committee meeting being planned. Anita will be hosting.
Public Relations
Meeting on 9th July. Kevin Jackson will be visiting other local clubs to increase PR.

Peter Panek was fined for purchasing a new bike, being the most financially successful Sergeant ($6980), and pursuing a new career as a contract artisan.
New Paul Harris Fellows Pek Goh, Richard Sudlow, and Brian English fined for their awards.
Anita and Nigel fined for their Irish brethren beating the Wallabies.
All bike riders were fined in anticipation of late nights viewing the Tour de France.
Richard Sudlow for changing his rowing colours from yellow to maroon, and for jaywalking at a local intersection.

GUEST SPEAKER:
David Favory – Australian Red Cross Blood Service
David was introduced by Russell Hawkins as the ARC Community Relations Officer.
His background is as an ERT paramedic in the mining industry.
ARC has launched the RED 25 initiative. This seeks to obtain 25% of required blood donations from community groups and corporate sources.
1 in 3 Australians will require a blood transfusion, but only 1 in 30 are donors. There are 9 million eligible donors in Australia, but only 550,000 currently in the database.
Every donation has the potential to save 3 lives, and a donation is more powerful than money.
The giving process takes only an hour and can be as frequent as every 2 weeks if giving plasma. WA is the highest plasma donating state. Stored blood can last up to 42 days but usually consumed within 10-12 days.
The donation centre is in the CBD at 140 William Street, above the Perth Underground train station.
The safety of donors is paramount.
