The SAS base is located at Campbell Barracks in Swanbourne and has been there since the regiment was first established as an independent company in 1957.
Correctly answered by Russell Hawkins.

  • Mike Snell for dining at the Tee Box.
  • Bruce Fiegert for winning the footy tipping contest this week, even though Gaye picked all his guesses.
GUEST SPEAKER: Craig Howson – introduced by Susan Watson:
  • Craig Howson is the founding director of North Star Cruises Australia. He first offered adventure cruises along the Kimberley coast in 1987.
  • Craig was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for services to tourism in Western Australia in 2016.
  • He started his business after building a tender for the Canadian crew in Western Australia for the 1987 defence of the America’s Cup off Fremantle. The Canadians had naming rights and called the boat True North.
  • Over the years, Craig developed bigger and more luxurious cruising vessels, though not so big that there are places they cannot travel. He is a pioneer in the adventure and sailing expeditions.
  • Craig has built up his business and has two boats. True North I caters for 36 passengers and 22 staff, and True North II can take 22 passengers and 16 staff. Both boats sail in the Kimberley and True North I also sails internationally, amongst other places, to Papua New Guinea, Komodo and Irian Jaya.
