President opened the meeting at 6.30 pm on 16 November 2020 with a rousing singing of Advance Australia Fair as led by John Thornton OAM. The members performed well and scored an 8/10 for their efforts.

Neil Wilkie informed members that he had recently had a visit from Jackie Ritchie, the widow of one of our Club’s founders, Ian Ritchie. Jackie was well and enquired after the activities of the Club.

The AGM has been held. Reported that last year the Trust distributed approx. $84,000 which is an outstanding result. Russel also informed members that the Trust has already donated another $33k this financial year.

Nigel Johnson advised that 7,000 flyers had been printed. Members allotment of flyers is being distributed tonight, ready for distribution in a couple of weeks. Donations will be dropped off at 3 locations across the Western Suburbs and will be collected on a Saturday.

Anita Burke advised that a stall will be set up in Claremont Quarter on Saturday 21st and she is looking for members to assist with manning the stall and for donations to sell on the day.

- Polio Plus donations - Thank you for your generous donations. We have currently raised $1,750 which will turn into $5,250 with the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
- Board Meeting last week;
- Cans for Xmas preparations are in Full Swing.
- Green batch collections have started.
- KJ is looking at a possible Art Exhibition / Sale. Maybe.
- MB congratulated on his Book Collection project.
- Fundraising has been constrained this year. Hence keep thinking of any possible events. Noted that the Business Lunch was very well done.
- Youth Committee doing great work.
- Next week we will be having the Citizenship Mentees giving their 5-minute presentations which are required as part of their programme. As such, we will NOT be having many / any reports so we can accommodate everything in the time we have.
- Xmas Cocktail Party at the Weld Club on 7th December.
