• Club Services – Craig James spoke about two events:
Ø Brazilian dinner to be held on Monday 23 February, 6 pmfor 6:15 pm at Moose Café, Bay View Terrace, Claremont. $70 per head, BYO or cash bar. Bookings are essential to attend. https://www.trybooking.com/DJHGO

Ø Fruit cakes – Craig spoke of how Richard Ranshaw has sold 279 fruit cakes for a profit of $1,985 for the Club in six months. In addition, another $837 is forwarded by the Rotary Club of Darwin, which supplies the cakes, to the Rotary Foundation.
• Golf Day – David Miller spoke to the meeting about the annual fundraising golf day with funds to go to the Angelman Foundation. This year the event will be held on Friday 10 April 2026 at the Nedlands Golf Club. It is $100 a head to enter. Please contact David on miller@iinet.net.au to enter.
• Ronald McDonald House – Anita Bourke said that there were still spots available for the Ronald McDonald House cooking evening on Wednesday 18 February, please contact Anita if you are available on anita.g.bourke@gmail.com

Foodbank – Arnya Tait from Foodbank presented a certificate of thanks to President Jonas for the work that the Rotary Club of Dalkeith has done for Foodbank.

· Cambodia Family Support – Helen and Vin Keane have written to thank the Charitable Trust for its continued support. Five thousand dollars was recently given by the Trust.
· Homeless Healthcare – Alison Sayer, the CEO of Homeless Healthcare, wrote to Anita to express her gratitude for the recent sorting of medications. She writes:
“On behalf of everyone at Homeless Healthcare, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Rotary Club of Dalkeith for once again generously supplying medications for use across our Mobile Clinics, Hub and Street Health services.
Your ongoing support directly enables our teams to manage chronic illness, reduce harm, support recovery, and prevent avoidable deterioration in health for people experiencing homelessness and marginalisation. Quite simply, your generosity helps us do our work.”
• Magic Coat Foundation – President Jonas described how he and Di Wilcox gave a presentation on behalf of the Magic Coat Foundation at the Rotary Club of Mill Point. Hopefully, the Club will support the Foundation’s hospital pack project.
SERGEANT JASON SESSION: The following members were fined by Sergeant Jason:

GUEST SPEAKER: Dr Grey Coupland introduced by Susie Rich:
A Japanese botanist called Miyawaki first realised and developed the benefits of pocket forests. The forests are always only grown using native species of flora.
· Through the Miyawaki Forest Research and Outreach Programme Grey and her team are developing pocket forests in Perth. As a result of the clearance of lands and the canopy crisis in Perth, pocket forests are being grown and there are currently 22 of them. Some of the pocket forests are grown by school children who then have agency, ownership and responsibility for its growth and upkeep.
· The space need be no bigger than a car space as a minimum. Grey spoke about the benefits of pocket forests as being ten times faster to grow than ordinary bushland, the forests are ten times denser and there is 18 times the biodiversity. There is an increase of birds and animals attracted to pocket forests and it is species rich.
· Thanks to Grey for describing her work and the benefits of pocket forests.
