President Anthony McGrath opened the meeting at 6.30 pm on 15th February 2021. It is good to be back face-to-face again! Hopefully, it can remain like this, but we will see.
John Thornton (OAM) was invited to lead us in a rousing chorus of Advance Australia Fair! Following our absence from face-to-face meetings, the Club performed well and received an 8.5/10 for their efforts.

John Bolto informed the Club that his Daughter Alex and her husband Antonio welcomed their second child into the world this morning. Born at 7:45 am was Lorenzo Gatta at 3.23kg. Mother and baby doing well.
Anita advised that Elizaveta Bourke is celebrating her first wedding anniversary this evening

Russel invited members to donate to the Bush Fire Appeal through the Trust and that the Trust would be donating in its own right.

Advised members that we have taken up 26 sites for the 2nd March bike count. We still have 8 sites available for members but get in quick.

Kevin reminded the Club about next week’s speaker, Bret Christian – the owner of the Post newspaper and author of the book on the Claremont serial killer.
Kevin also spoke of a possible venture with another club to collect tools to donate to the Bush fire appeal. More to follow.

- Bush Fire Appeal - I have sent an email to all members. Thank you to all those who have donated through our Charitable Trust or any other mechanism. It will all help.
- Fellowship Dinner on 8th March 2021. Please get your RSVP in early and dinner payment as appropriate.

Self-reported fines for Trevor Gorey firstly for falling off his bike at the end of his driveway because he forgot to tighten up the handlebars after servicing his bike and secondly, for trying to drive to York for a romantic lunch date only to be turned back by the police due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Some of the positive aspects of the course which the participants shared with the meeting included;
- Very intensive course, but so much fun
- Thanks to the club for giving the participants this unforgettable learning experience
- interaction with aboriginal elders was very revealing.
- Learning to trust your support group and undertake the leap of faith required participants to leap from an elevated platform.
- Learning to listen more to those around you.
- Forge some great friendships.
- Learned the ability to connect on a deeper level.
- RYLA gave at least one actionable piece of info from each lesson.
- Learned a greater understanding of goal setting.
- A big thank you to Rotary for this amazing experience.
- Learned about personality traits.
- Learned how to get a good repour with his students.
- Learned about emotional intelligence.
- Learned about Rotaract and other aspects of Rotary.
- RYLA was one of the defining moments in their life.
President thanked the RYLA participants for their presentations and also a big thanks to Kim Smith for running such a worthwhile program.
