CLUB AND COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Charitable Trust; In RH’s absence, Ken Ilett reported that there had been an encouraging response to Rtn Russell Hawkins’ call for donations. Ken thanked the donors for their support and promised that receipts will be sent to all donors shortly.
Secretary: With prompting by the President, Secretary Craig announced the next Board Meeting will be held on Monday 8 July at 518 Hood Street Subiaco.
Treasurer: Leon confirmed that Invoices for Fees and non-compulsorily donation to RI had been sent out. He offered to assist any Rotarian unable to navigate the new invoicing and payment system.
Directors Reports;
Club Services: Anthony McGrath being an apology, there was no report.
Community Services: Tim Humphry was an apology; Nigel Johnson informed the meeting that he has had his first meeting with RC Matilda Bay to plan the 2019 Cans for Christmas Appeal.
Vocational Service: In Michael Bissett’s absence (an apology), Peter Marfleet reminded members of the walk in the Park for Parkinson on 15 September and those participants will be expected to raise donations. He promised it could be competitive amongst RCD members.
Rotary Foundation and International Service: Peter Webb fessed up that his committee was waiting for the return of Anita Bourke from holidays to receive her inspiration and ideas.
Public Relations: The article in the Post relating to exchange students Cadu and Hollie was noted. Kevin proposed that the club consider offering support for Jackie Gilmour’s Hope for Children programme in Addis Abida

Membership and New Members: The first meeting will be held next Monday at 5.15 at the Claremont Showgrounds Mens Shed.
Youth Service: Kim Smith was an apology. President John informed that Scotch College student Daniel Laurence has been accepted to participate in the 2010 RYE and will be hosted in Norway.
Men’s Shed: Trevor Gorey reported that following completion of the refurbishment of the shed, painting of the internal and external surfaces was well advanced. Additionally, the application for a Lotterywest grant is looking more to bear fruit.

PRESIDENTS REPORT:
President John and PP David Ellis and Rtn Hugh Stowell attended the District Changeover Dinner on June 29. Hugh was the MC for the evening. DG Graham Peden was inducted, RC Cambridge was named as Club of the Year, AG Evonne Hart from RC Crawley was named the Rotarian of the Year.

Susan graduated from the UWA Law School and after years of working in local firms and travelling, she joined DOLA (as it then was) in 1997 as part of the Legal Team. From there she rose to become Commissioner in 2015.

Electronic conveyancing, or e-conveyancing, reduces the number of manual processes and the paperwork required with traditional conveyancing transactions. E-conveyancing allows conveyancers, lawyers and financial institutions to lodge important documents and arrange financial settlements digitally, ensuring a faster and more convenient conveyancing process.
In 2010, the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) formed Property Exchange Australia (PEXA) as part of its initiative to provide a national e-conveyancing platform for the Australian property industry. The aim of PEXA is to support the property industry as it moves towards a completely digital conveyancing process in the future. Other platforms like PEXA are expected on the market shortly.
Some of the advantages of settling the transfer of property online include:
- Less paperwork.
- Faster.
- By moving every aspect of the conveyancing process online, e-conveyancing can reduce the costs involved when buying or selling a home.
- When conveyancing is done manually, it can take days or perhaps weeks after settlement to lodge the documents registering your ownership of a property. E-conveyancing ensures that these documents are lodged instantly.
- Buyers and sellers who use electronic conveyancing can track the process in real-time.
The electronic platforms do not perform the duties of Landgate but deliver the documents to Landgate in electronic form after which Landgate is responsible for processing the registration. Electronic Conveyancing does not alter the laws of conveyancing.
The PEXA platform is a world first and has attracted much interest from International Land Registries. It has definite commercialisation potential.
