President Anthony McGrath opened the meeting at 6.30 pm on 11 January 2021 with a rousing singing of the new Advance Australia Fair as led by John Thornton OAM. The Club was a bit rust with the song and the new words confused it entirely. Scored a pass mark only at 6/10.
Last week we had a very informal get-together at Steve’s for a drink and some had a meal. Overall we had around 35 people show up which great. The evening was a perfect start to the New Year.
This meeting is still being streamed on Zoom so that you may engage in that manner.
We hope you have had a very restful, fun, and enjoyable holiday period. From here let us get together and carry out some good Rotary Projects for this year.

John Thornton proudly announced that his son, John, has been appointed in a permanent capacity with the Electoral office.
John McKinnon announced that Ron Wilson is doing well and plans on rejoining us again very soon.

The Club sponsored 4 participants at the RYLA camp last week.
OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Peter Panek informed the Club that so far, the Club has received $568.30 from the Containers for Change WA program. This equated to approximately $165/month or an anticipated figure of almost $2.000 for the year.

- A reminder that the Bi-District Conference 2021 is coming up at Opus Stadium on 5 -7 March 2021. Early Bird discounts are still in play for this week.
- Centennial Ball coming up on 23 April 2021 at the Ritz-Carlton.
- Next week we have our Family BBQ. Please organise friends, family, and kids/grandkids. I will need numbers by the end of this week. Let me know as soon as you can.
