FAMILY AND FRIENDS:
• Solaris Cancer Care – Thanks to all donors for the contributions to Solaris Cancer Care in memory of Barbara Ranshaw. To date the sum of $785 has been raised, from cash at the meeting last week and funds transferred to the Project Account. If you would like to contribute please do so as soon as possible, Anthony will be sending off the funds on Wednesday. Thanks to all of you for the donations.
• President of the Golf Club – Kevin Jackson will be bringing Tony Morgan, the President of the Nedlands Golf Club, to the meeting next week.
CLUB AND COMMITTEE REPORTS:
• Meetings - To follow up on the forum from three weeks ago, the Board is looking into alternative venues and options for meetings, when there is anything concrete to discuss members will be asked for comments.
• Business lunch – The Business Lunch will be held in just over a month, on Friday 4 September 2026 at the Royal Perth Golf Club. This year’s speaker is Professor Jacques Eksteen, talking about critical minerals and metals. A flyer has been sent out about it to all members, please get your tables together as soon as possible and let John Bolto or John MacKinnon know names, numbers and dietary requirements. This is the Club’s biggest annual fundraiser and participation by as many Club members as possible is requested.
• Club fees - Please pay your annual Club fees as soon as possible, they were due by 31 July 2026. The invoice was sent out on 1 July 2026 from this email address by Ronald Dominguez on messaging-service@post.xero.com

• YouthCARE – The Club has received a warm letter of thanks from the Treasurer of YouthCARE, Christine Lewis, for the Club’s donation of $2,500 to it recently. Christine has also asked members to pray for the work done by its chaplains at public schools.

The following members were fined:
Paul Kestell for not having the Acting Acting Sergeant’s number in his contact list;
Michael Bisset and Leighton Chadwick for their Virgo horoscope that they look sweet and innocent but only a fool would mess with them today;
Neil Wilkie, Bruce Fiegert, Mark Khangure and John MacKinnon for being Sagittarians with the horoscope that they should wear novelty caps and laugh loudly at cartoons (special mention to Bruce and John for wearing the silly hats);
Jonas Edner for his Pisces horoscope that he should resist impulse purchases so give his money over to the Acting Acting Sergeant instead;
Susan Watson for winning the football tipping recently.
