- The business lunch is on this Friday 9 August as soon as possible. Please contact John Bolto on rj.bolto@gmail.com with dietary requirements for you and your guests as soon as possible and if you have extra people who you would like to add to your table.
- John Bolto reported that the football tipping was still tight. This weekend's matches were very close, and the points seesawed in the dying minutes, making for interesting tipping. Mike Snell is the current leader.
ROTARY MOMENTS:
Ondina wrote a lovely letter to the Club thanking its members for the flowers, cards, and letters of support, especially to those who attended Stewart’s funeral.

- Grandcarers (previously known as Grandparents Raising Grandchildren)—Thanks to Richard and Barbara Ranshaw, Anita Bourke, and Susan Watson for donating and collecting from their friends good-quality adult and children's clothes, bed linen, toys, games, and baby equipment, which were delivered to Grandcarers in Warwick last week. It was a very full car load. All the items were much appreciated and gratefully received, and also, it is such a good way to recycle goods that are no longer needed.

- Book drive—We have completed our fifth book drive for Buk bilong Pikinini in Papua New Guinea and shipped 75 boxes of books to them thanks to our logistics partner, Sadleirs. Over five years, we have donated around 25,000 books supplied by six local primary schools. It was a great project, and thanks to all involved! I especially appreciate Michael Bisset for being the driving force behind the book drive.

- Guy Grey-Smith exhibition—Many thanks to President Hugh for inviting members and guests to the Guy Grey-Smith exhibition. It was wonderful to see the artist’s work in person. The colours are so vibrant. The morning tea was delicious and a great opportunity to spend time with members and friends. Special thanks to Kevin Jackson for the idea, for organising the event, and for providing the raffle prize. It was a truly memorable morning.
SERGEANT SESSION: The following members were fined:
- Susan Watson for having a letter in The Post;
- Bruce Jeanes who is perpetually seen at Belissimo Restaurant, though he maintains he has only been there once;
- Bruce Fiegert for removing half of Waratah Avenue’s tree canopy;
- Mike Snell for leading the footy tipping;

- All Eagles supporters for their shock at winning.

- Di is the CEO and founder of The Magic Coat Foundation. She has a BA in Social Science in Women and Children’s Studies and a Diploma of Education. She has won several awards for her work with children, including The Pride of Australia Medal, Momentum’s Most Inspirational Woman, and the United Nations WA Human Rights award. Di is a parenting and education expert featured in the media, particularly on Channel 9. She is the mother of two daughters and Jonas Edner’s partner.
- Di spoke of using the funds given to the Magic Coat Foundation by the Charitable Trust for decals in the hospital and at Ronald McDonald House of the Magic Coat’s special characters, which help to cloak children from their fears and inspire them to have resilience. The funds have also been used to develop a new app, which surgery patients are currently using to help them navigate their experiences at the hospital. It has been so successful that the app will be used next in the burns and oncology wards.
- The app is being trialled at Perth Children’s Hospital, but hospitals in Canada and Germany have approached Di to use it, too.
- Thanks to Di for updating us on the wonderful work that she and the Magic Coat Foundation achieve to ease children’s pain and worries when negotiating a stay in hospital.
