Reports:
Charitable Trust: (Russell Hawkins)
There will be a Board meeting tomorrow night for the Charitable Trust, in Russell’s office at 5 pm.
The portfolio is slowly improving, went up $5k today!
As the end of the Financial Year is coming close, Russell will write to all members and ask them to consider a tax-effective donation into the Charitable Trust.
2 Cases of SSB available $135/ case Flying Fish Cove. See Russell.
Club Services : (Anthony McGrath)
A Zoom meeting will be convened shortly just to touch base. Stay tuned.
I will email all Directors and let them know about the District on-line Assembly on 6 June 2020.
Treasurer: (Leon Lorenzen)
So far $900 has been donated to the John Fawcett Foundation Dinner Money drive.
Leon also wants all Directors to provide their Budget Figures to him by the end of this week for Next Year’s activities/events/projects / Fundraising and expenditure.
RI & International : (Michael Bisset)
Ken has put in an application for a District Grant for the John Fawcett Foundation to run two Eye Clinics in Bali at a total cost of $5,000. $2,500 from RCD and $2,500 from District 9455. We propose to raise our $2,500 by requesting a direct donation from members from the money that would have otherwise been spent on Dinner Fees.
Michael outlined a new project for International being a School Book / Educational Material for Schools in PNG. Michael has done a fair bit of preliminary work and it looks like a great project in which we can get people involved. Let him know if you are willing to assist. This can also involve your partner, friends or Adult Children.
There will be an International meeting this week on Zoom.
Youth : (Kim Smith)
We had an email from Hollie this week which was fantastic. It outlined that because we took a chance on her she got to undertake a life-changing event. If we had not or delayed her she would NOT have gone and done the things she did. It showed what an impact it can have on Student Lives!
There was a question regarding Cadu and how he is going considering Brazil is in a lot of trouble. Michael Bisset will check on him and report next meeting. He heard from him about a month ago and he was all ok but NOT complimentary about his government.
Public Image: (Kevin Jackson)
Kevin and Richard R went out to Foodbank this week with The Post. It was about RCD donating 5,000 meals thru’ Foodbank to the less fortunate. The article should be in this Friday’s edition.
Kevin is dealing with Steve H regarding collecting sleeping bags for the homeless. This could be a very good story.
