WELCOME ROTARIANS AND GUESTS;
- The President welcomed everyone to the Meeting and invited John Thornton to lead everyone in a rousing chorus for the National Anthem
The President then welcomed the 8 members on Zoom
The Club was advised that more information regarding the Handover Dinner would be forthcoming during the Club Services announcements this evening
It was noted that the 25th June is the anniversary of the establishment of the charitable trust which was established in 2008

Anthony McGrath was welcomed as tonight’s Guest Speaker

QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
Q: What is Rotary’s monthly theme for June?
A: Rotary Fellowships was correctly answered by John Lindquist (only after he sought help from the others around him), however, he generously shared his ill-gotten gains with those around him in equal proportions.

There were no announcements regarding family and friends this evening.
|
|
|

|
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES were announced by Bob Davis who congratulated Graeme Sansom for his 79th Birthday on 28/6 and announced Marion Cahif’s Birthday on 23/6, who still has many, many more years to go before her 79th Birthday.
|
|
|

|
CHARITABLE TRUST: Members have all received the annual letter advising of the Trust status and reminding members that now is a great time to invest/donate to the Trust.
There is a Trust Board meeting on Tuesday night.
|
|
|
-
|
The Secretary, Craig James, on Zoom, advised that he had nothing to report.
|
|
|
-
|
Our Treasurer Leon Lorenzen advised that your club has donated some $52,000 since December which is an outstanding effort in these Covid-19 times.
The annual subs invoice will be issued in July and members were reminded of the option to pay the additional fee ($150) to cover the payment to Rotary International.
|
|
|
-
|
ATTENDANCE: 38 present plus 8 on Zoom leaves us 2 short of a free bottle of wine. Close but no cigar.
|
|

Club Service: Handover dinner at Weld Club next week, spouses welcome.
|
|
|
-
|
Community Service: The Club dinner meeting on the 24th August will be held out at Foodbank. A committee meeting was held last week and Nigel Johnson managed to join the Zoom Meeting. Go Nigel!
|
|
|
-
|
Vocational Service: Ken Ilett has managed to obtain a matching District Grant for the John Fawcett Foundation.
The Book Drive has received support from 2 local primary schools with responses from 3 more still awaited. A flyer regarding the Book drive will be sent out to all members.

|
|
|

- Virtual RI Convention started on Saturday night and the President displayed the Convention Schedule and pointed out several relevant topics to the members.
