GUEST SPEAKERS: Matthew Lauw, Varun Mukhedkar, Jonah Lee, Alexis Ward – introduced by Hugh Stowell

Matthew and Varun gave amusing accounts of their time at Rotary Youth Leadership Awards camp in January. Both said their lives were enriched by the experience and were thankful to the Club for the opportunity to attend RYLA. Varun said he learnt much about leading diverse teams, his public speaking improved, and he is more comfortable pushing his limits. Matthew learnt that leadership can come from anywhere and that every voice must be heard.

Alexis went to the National Youth Science Forum in Canberra. There were 250 participants at her forum, and she stayed at a college at ANU. The careers day was informative and as a result she is now considering a career as a medical physicist. A highlight was listening to a speaker from NASA. Alexis thanked the Club for sponsoring her to attend.

Jonah went to the National Youth Science Forum in Brisbane and stayed at Kings College at the University of Queensland.
