Tony Chien sent a group photo of the Magnificent 10 Volunteers at the last Sunday MetSO Gala Concert held at the Ballroom, Governor House.
The 10 volunteers consist of 8 Club members plus Bethwyn Miller and Fiona Johnson. The volunteers were on various duties from 11am to 6pm, tasks involved setting up the 200 chairs in the Ballroom and pack them away, checking vaccination status and ticket collection at the gate, taking care of VIPs, managing the audience, provide safety wardens and assisting MetSO as directed.
The volunteers did a fantastic job over this extended period with smiles, as leaders of the pack (Kevin Jackson and myself) we are extremely proud of the team and assistance from RCD were duly acknowledged in the Governor speech and from MetSO.
Our President Jason and his wife Aisha were amongst the VIPs and a number of our Club members were in the audience.
Below is an extract from an email from Mrs. Ti Wan Porter, the Event Manager from MetSO:
Thank you to all the Rotarians for helping at the concert yesterday. The organisation and management for our first event at GHB was a massive undertaking. Your expert advice and practical help on the day is very much appreciated. It has been a pleasure working with RCD and I hope we can continue to help each other with exciting new projects. Please can you pass on our thanks to all the RCD helpers?

DISTRICT CONFERENCE: A message from the District Governor to the Club.
|
Rotarians across Australia have already booked tickets for our iconic WA District Conference next weekend. "We are One".
I have just noticed that no one from your club has booked a ticket as yet.
A number of clubs are organising a club event and already have their club ticket - you may also be planning to do that - which is fabulous.
The Virtual Link to join the conference will be sent out next Thursday, so it's important that you have booked either a Club or single ticket before then. I wouldn't want you to miss out at the last minute.
Conference Tickets are only $35pp, tickets to hear our keynote speakers Danny Ford and Tim Muirhead at other events in WA are around $240, so this is a great opportunity.
The conference will explore how as Australians, We are One, and together we can progress our Reconciliation journey and Rotary can make lasting change in Australia.
Please let me know if you are planning to join us or have any questions.
kindest regards,
Dee
Dee Buckland Rotary District Governor 2021-22, Western Australia District 9455
