Laurel Jackson emailed the Club to let us know that her husband Tom had passed away. Tom was a member and well known to original members of the Club.

 

John Bolto announced his recently jabbed children were sick after the jab!

 

Richard Ranshaw sold one ticket to Kevin Jackson which was a winning ticket in last week’s lottery, and he bought all the other tickets in that book!

Round 23 (final round) was again won, in a rare draw, by Natalie Egerton-Warburton and Peter Marfleet. Both scored 8 correct tips with a margin of 2. They will each collect $20.

Well, there has been a very interesting finish to this year's competition. Damon Brash managed to hold onto his top position but Andrew Hogan and Craig James both fell at the last hurdle and were replaced by Peter Panek and David Ellis, proving once again that margin is important. Positions 2 to 6 were decided on a total margin spread of just 18.

Thank you, everyone, for taking part in this competition. The continuous churning of the top positions made it interesting right up to the final round. 

We had 66 entries, distributed $1820 in prizes and raised $2800 for our club to allocate to Rotary projects.

 

None, except John Bolto on membership which will be the subject of the night’s Club Forum.

 

My Home Official Launch. After waiting almost 7 months for the state government to sign off on the land, join the official launch of the first of many “My Home” projects – homes in North Fremantle built by Highbury Homes and ready for occupancy in February 2022. Announced by Minister for Communities, Hon. Simone McGurk. How fabulous!

SERGEANT’S SESSION: (Win Jones)  In the absence of sergeant John Steward, Winston Jones OAM stepped in for the first time in 20 years.

Footy tipping winners.

Nigel Johnson for his birthday.

Followed by a little story from Winston about a stuttering non-catholic radio announcing candidate!

 

 

1. What age group do you think we should target for new members?

2. Where and how should we look for new members?

3. How do you think would be the best way to encourage members to bring along at least 1 potential member this rotary year?

4. What can the club assist the members with to be more efficient in recruiting new members?

5. How can we make the club more interesting to potential new members?

 

A questionnaire was circulated to each table with a series of questions (see above).

6 table captains reported as follows.

Prepare a package of information for new and prospective members

Promote the Club through the Post newspaper.

Promote the Club to 50–60-year-olds in the 6009 postcode.

Approach friends and relatives and local small business owners

Bring a friend to a meeting when a good speaker is scheduled

Target over 55’s.

Consider members of the local Men’s Shed, Golf Club and Bowling Club.

Target 60+ age group.

Focus on guest speaker when bringing a prospective member.

Have each member develop their own succession plan.

Develop a marketing package..

Target 25-40-year-olds

Maybe have a booth in the Claremont Corner..

Maybe meet fortnightly.

Do an exit interview with resigning members.

Target 50+.

Booth in Men’s Shed during Royal Show.

Prepare a 45-second elevator pitch.

Free meal for each member and his/her guest on bringing a prospective member.
