QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
Question: What is Arch Klumph best known for establishing?
Answer: Proposing the establishment of an endowment fund that became the Rotary Foundation.
In 1917, RI President Arch C. Klumph proposed that an endowment be set up “for the purpose of doing good in the world.” In 1928, when the endowment
fund had grown to more than US$5,000, it was renamed The Rotary Foundation, and it became a distinct entity within Rotary International.

Club Service:
John Bolto reported that the Property Cupboard was being cleaned out. Bob Davis reported a Club Banner is available for Club Functions.
Community Service:
100 Rotary bags are still available.
Vocational Service:
A committee meeting is to be held June 10.
Rotary Foundation and International Service:
Peter Webb and his committee met earlier with members of Rotary Perth to discuss Rotary District Grants.
Anita invited the ladies to attend a morning tea on 5th May.
Membership and New Members:

Youth:
Kim Smith reported receiving a letter of appreciation for the sponsorship of student and the commencement of the Early Start programme at Dalkeith Primary School.
Men’s Shed:
Trevor Gorey and Peter Webb reported the CEO of the City of Claremont was very supportive of the project.

PRESIDENT'S REPORT:
1. Question of us all- "Membership + esp. New Club Members - to whom have we each recently spoken to about Rotary - and have we also invited them to
attend a Club Meeting!?"
2. Club Events -NB - many social and club events of great note are to follow in the months ahead ... & as reported on by Directors I Committee Chairs and
all are to be enthusiastically supported please. A hard core of members do participate in most of these events - however increasingly many don't ... why!?
3. Being 11 mths. in to this Rotary year - reflect on what we've achieved YTD as a club & individually on our own Rotary journey; and what we also hope to
accomplish in the next 1month, for the balance of this 2018-19. There are District Events besides the many Club events that preoccupy us - remember our
wider Rotary District & International commitments too.

Sergeant Trevor Gorey, extracted fines for Birthdays, John Thornton's footy tipping, Richard Sudlow's rowing, Pek and Kent for being runners up at bowls.
