First item of Business is the Annual General Meeting
The AGM went ahead without a hitch. Perhaps the main point of concern was the lack of nominations for positions.

Kevin Jackson: Kevin’s daughter has been appointed as an Associate Professor to the School of Business Management and Chain Management at Curtin University. A prestigious appointment.
Neil Wilkie (and June) have their daughter and new grandchild at home in Perth.
Neil also thanked the schools for their great contribution to Cans for Christmas.
Russell Hawkins has 4 Flying Fish SSB cases and 3 Cab Merlot cases available.

SERGEANT’S SESSION: (Graeme Sansom)
Graeme conducted a particularly brutal session given that Christmas is upon us.
Russell H was fined for being the most fined member.
Steve H, just a poor suburban insurance broker, was fined for not being fined.
There were a couple of others in that group but who cares?

Apart from being a huge year for the Smith family where they enjoyed an English summer with their new grandchild Peter has turned 60 and now has glasses.
Peter gave us his view on where we seem to be headed as a society.
Peter emphasised the profound influence the RCD and other Rotary Clubs have on their community and that is important for us to remember.
The Christmas story is the glue that binds our culture. Perhaps we have become so secular we are losing contentment and happiness. Many people have little understanding of the true meaning of Christmas. We are about self.
If we could achieve Peace and tranquillity, we would be a better global society.
I haven’t done justice to Peter’s talk to the members. As in past years it was considered thoughtful and thought provoking.
