Tim Huxley was born in the UK and has spent his entire working life in the shipping industry, initially as a shipbroker for Clarksons London where he worked for six years before moving to Hong Kong in 1989. In 2006 he established Mandarin Shipping as a Hong Kong based shipping investment and advisory company prior to spending eight years as CEO of Wah Kwong Maritime Transport Holdings Ltd, the largest privately owned shipowner in Hong Kong who own a diverse fleet of tankers and bulkcarriers. In 2016 he returned full time to Mandarin Shipping who now own and operate a fleet of container vessels trading in Asia and commercially manage a number of bulkcarriers.

Tim is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, a former Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association and a Non-Executive Director of a number of shipping related companies in Asia and Europe. He is also a Director of the One Sky Foundation which provides early childhood care and development programmes throughout China, Vietnam and Mongolia.
