Well a very enjoyable ‘Non Political presentation from Andrew Simms. Andrew spoke in depth of issues affecting the Taieri, whether it be the Inland Port and all the potential industries that might be attracted to Mosgiel because of this, access into Mosgiel which we all agree is a nightmare, Taieri Trails tunnels and the benefits that connecting all of Central Otago cycling trails to Dunedin will bring.
I was impressed with Andrews understanding and knowledge of all topics that were covered. Some lively questions from the floor added to the evening.
It was nice to have past member Jenny Archer along and of cause my wife Jill who how could I forget was there as well.
A highlight of the evening was able to Induce ( Induct ) Kevin Davidson to our Club, I know Kevin will be a valuable member and will bring a lot of expertise to our group with over 40 years of Policing he has seen a lot and knows our community very well.
Our Charitable Trust had a meeting afterwards and managed to give a substantial amount away to three other applications which is a good reminder of why we are Rotarians. We work hard to raise money, but our purpose is to support our Local Community plus international causes as well.
As our next meeting will be my last as 2024/2025 President I would like to thank everyone in the club for their support throughout the year and wish Rod all the best for his tenure as President.
