A group of 40 school children from Elm Grove School enjoyed Tuesday morning planting 300 plants along the Silverstream by the Rugby Club facilities. The youngsters quickly learned how to plant, stake and water the 300 plants.

Some beautiful holes were dug to facilitate this by volunteer members from the Blokes Shed; Colin Mackintosh, Merv. Clearwater, Brian Shanks, & John van Delft from Rotary; as well as Vanessa and Kevin from the Silverstream Environmental Trails Group.  They also placed the plants beforehand, then helped supervise the planting. The school were happy with the organisation, and are keen to do more.  We are keen to turn these young folk into future Rotarians.
