Fifty nine Rotarians from clubs stretching from Dunedin to Gore converged on TPoma, the new Community Hub in Balclutha on Monday night.

The functionality and size of the building is a testament to the work that went in by the community to establish what was needed and how it could be delivered.
Owned by a Community trust and built in partnership with Clutha District Council, they have had $500k in rental hire in the first twelve month of operation, as opposed to the $12k a year the old War Memorial Hall took in.

The tour of the facility was given by Trustees Dale Anderson, Tasha Munro and facility Manager Mary Woodrow.
We then wandered over to the Balclutha Scout hall where we were wonderfully looked after by local Scouts.
A two course meal and a surprise for Rotarian Robbie Burnside who was surprised to have his 90th Birthday, this week, celebrated early with a very tasty fruitcake, made by Pam Goodsir.

View from the upstairs atrium.
Open photo Robbie cuts his cake. The Scouts were such great hosts and interacted with us all and enjoyed sharing the cake round for everyone to enjoy.
