The 2017-18 Rotary half year is almost through already with only two more meetings and then six months left after Xmas for it to be a great year for our Mosgiel rotary club.
If you have a bright idea for a new and worthwhile project for the club, suggest it on Monday evening on club night  for discussion, and one of our project team managers may offer to run it.

Rain didn't dampen the enjoyment

For our special meeting for Christmas last Monday we all went to the Beach. No body got sand on their shoes and  ventured. on to the Beach. So nobody had to be rescued
While we watched from the clubhouse the surfers were having a wonderful time.

Run the runway

The run was held at the crack of dawn on Sunday  January 28th 2018. The Run started at 6.15am
This is a joint community effort and got excellent support.
It was great to see so many members turning out at the airport by 5.30 am for duty
About 120 people took the opportunity to run or walk the runway and Irene was pleased with the support.
MTF Dunedin South a committed supporter, of the pool project ran a successful BBQ in the  car park.
While I'm not aware of the  final amount  I think over $6000.00 was raised

Thanks to all the members and supporters who made the effort.

Birthday Party

If you are free or have an association with the Kindergarten you may like to attend as a Rotarian next Monday afternoon for their 70th birthday party. There may be some of our members who actually were there at the beginning?

A blonde and a lawyer are seated next to each other on a flight from LA to NY. The lawyer asks if she would like to play a fun game? The blonde, tired, just wants to take a nap. Politely she declines and rolls over to the window to catch a few winks. The lawyer persists and explains that the game is easy and a lot of fun.
He explains, "I ask you a question, and if you don't know the answer, you pay me $5.00, and vise versa."
Again, she declines and tries to get some sleep. The lawyer, now agitated, says, "Okay, if you don't know the answer you pay me $5.00, and if I don't know the answer, I will pay you $500.00." This catches the blonde's attention and, figuring there will be no end to this torment unless she plays, agrees to the game.
The lawyer asks the first question. "What's the distance from the earth to the moon?" The blonde doesn't say a word, reaches into her purse, pulls out a $5.00 bill and hands it to the lawyer.
"Okay," says the lawyer," your turn." She asks the lawyer, "What goes up a hill with three legs and comes down with four legs?" The lawyer, puzzled, takes out his laptop computer and searches all his references. No answer. Frustrated, he sends e-mails to all his friends and coworkers, to no avail. After an hour, he wakes the blonde and hands her $500.00.
The blonde says, "Thank you," puts her head on the pillow and goes back to sleep. He woke her up again,  “well what is the answer”? She reaches back into her bag and gives him a $5.00 note.
