Shelter Box

Shelter Box humble beginnings commenced 25 years ago, having been developed by Mosgiel Rotary Club based in an idea from 5 Uk Cornish People. It that grown into an amazing organisation distributing shelter and basic equipment within a box, internationally, to people immediately post disaster.  Each shelter box is adapted and tailored to the disaster area, meeting cultural requirements where the disaster has occured. Since the development of shelter box three million people have been helped over the 25 years.
Each box costs $1500. Our club continues to contribute 2 boxes per annum.

Interested in more information, sign up for Shelter Boxes Newsletter. (scroll to the bottom of the SB web page). They do promise not to clutter your in box, but to provide interesting news and information regarding what is happening around the globe for SB.

Mosgiel Christmas Tree

Santa's helpers are working hard behind the scenes to get the Mosgiel Christmas tree all ready for installation in early December.

But now it's time to "dress the tree"
Led by Peter Davies and helpers, we have moved the Mosgiel tree to Donald and Margie's to work on it, without the rush that happens every year when it is due to go up in the square.

If you can lend a hand to help get the Christmas Tree  ready, join us:

9.30 am this Saturday, 29 Nov at Donald and Margie's.
Cnr State Highway 87 and Dukes Road South, Mosgiel

We need to fluff the pine needles and add lights and baubles.

Park outside Vetlife and walk through the trades entrance towards the Murray's implement shed.

For more info call Steve Dunn 0220304553.
