Our guest speaker was Mrs. Pat Macauley, co-ordinator, Rural Support serving the Dunedin and central Otago area with Lindsay Purvis. Pat is well known to the two Mikes in Rotary. Mike Lawler is her older brother, and Mike Lord is the chairman of Otago Rural Support Trust. Pat spoke about her role and the Trust’s support to the rural community by facilitating assistance to those working in the rural sector. The pressures from banks, the government, environmental changes do have serious impacts on the wellbeing of many in the rural community.
We were pleased to hear to Lea is arranging another coffee morning get-together - more next week.
