Notes from Directors meeting 25th January 2021
Interim President.
At the directors meeting last evening the directors unanimously agreed to co-opt Mike Lord as Interim President while Graeme convalesces as home. Mike will be in regular contact with Graeme, sharing with him the club’s activities and ensuring Graeme’s plans are carried out over the next wee while. We wish Graeme all the best for his recovery.
Mark your Dairy
Keep an eye out on the bulletin for the forthcoming social events, there are quite a few planned:
- Coffee mornings – regular monthly get togethers.
- Pub night – date and place to be confirmed
- Home Hosting – considering March
- District conference – Waimate in March 2021. More information available contact lea.
- Visit local business followed by a meal out
Project Night
Next project night is on Monday 22nd February.
Projects planned for the evening will include
- Firewood
- Book sorting
- Rotary signs
- Repainting planter boxes.
- More information will be made available at our first meeting next Monday.
Youth & Senior.
Our club is sponsoring 2 young adults to attend the forthcoming RYLA event in Queenstown, both William and Tegan are looking forwarding to the experience, as much as we are looking forward to hearing from them later in the year.

Environment
John van Delft has been working tirelessly with the team in getting the Silverstream planted out. With John’s guidance, our club is going to manage the project which is exciting. Keep an eye out for new developments within the project.
Daffodil Competition
Once again the competition is on! But with a twist…… Bulbs will be available shortly for distribution to anyone who wishes to take part.
Book Sale; (please note)
Should you see any advertising advising that Taieri Club as hosting a book sale, please don’t panic, there is a (long) story behind the sale. The Directors have given Taieri their blessing for the sale providing it is held early in the year e.g. March/April and in different location e.g. Otago A&P grounds.
Run the runway ( see details below)
All hands on deck for this tremendous event. Sunday 13th February 2021 at 8pm. Helpers will be called for at our next meeting will need to be available that evening from about 7.30pm. Currently over $1000 worth of tickets have been sold!
