Guest speaker Monday night
Last Monday evening we hosted Andrew Simms, Chair of the Mosgiel-Taieri Community Board. Andrew updated the members on what has been happening fir the Board over the last few months. Andrew shared the Future Development Strategy (FDS) which the Dunedin City Council and Otago Regional Council shares their needs and aspirations for the next 30 years. Mosgiel has seen and will continue to see rapid growth, Andrew touched on the significant number of news homes that are consented to be built in Mosgiel, the importance of protecting heritage properties within our area, industrial land demand and the proposed inland port, traffic issues getting to and from Mosgiel and within our town for Bothe light and heavy vehicles, the need for a new indoor sport facility and upgrade needs to Memorial Park.
Andrews presentation was insightful, sharing the tremendous amount of work that is being done in the background, and thought provoking for Mosgiel's future.
