Some snippets from Monday night’s directors meeting:
EFTPOS machine
Several members have asked whether it would be possible to have an eftpos machine at Monday night’s meetings for payments. Unfortunately, the cost outweighs the benefit. On average an eftpos machine rental is $60 per month plus a charge each time your card is swiped, anything between 1.5% through to 3.75% per transaction.
Science Forum
The club is sponsoring Emma de Lange to attend the forthcoming science forum. Fingers crossed it won’t be cancelled due to covid restrictions.
Book sale
We welcome Neville Goodsir as the new book sale convenor, Neville will commence setting up a subcommittee to organise and run the book sale. Volunteers are always welcome, so if you are keen to help give Neville a call.
Saddle Hill Hike this is being planned for Feb 2022; it was very successful last time it was run. We just must hope that the weather and covid restrictions are on our side to ensure the event can proceed. We will be asking for assistance on the day of the event closer to the time.
Run the Runway is always a fun and very successful event, scheduled to be held in early Feb 2022. Watch this space for further details.
Mosgiel Christmas Family Night.
To be held Saturday 11th December 2021, carpark outside Olympic Gym (Former Countdown building) from 4 to 8pm. The organiser, Alister McMillan, is seeking assistance from about 10 Rotarians to help on the night as gate keepers, number counters, overseeing children amusements.
Any volunteers are welcome, can you advise Neville if available to help.
