Every year both Mosgiel and Taieri Rotary Clubs combine to ensure that year 4 children in the area are given a Childrens Dictionary
Why? you ask? When they have access to Google these days.
A picture dictionary encourages curiosity and helps children find out about new words and things they do not know about. Google tends to only offer what they are looking for. The magic of flicking through the pages of a book and seeing pictures that tweak interest is still an important part of child development
The kids love getting their dictionaries and the schools fully support the benefits of the programme
