Well a great response was had to the Venison and Salmon this Christmas.

Subject: Cherry Deliveries
Unfortunately we had the following correspondence from our supplier and will look forward to fairer conditions in 2022:

Good morning all, I’m sorry Have to tell you that after consulting with the pickers and packhouse and seeing the fruit quality that has been picked so far, I have made the call to abandon the project.

Rain is forecast for tonight and tomorrow and the suppliers can’t guarantee cherries for delivery to me to get them to you and I’m not 100% happy with the fruit quality that is being marketed at the moment.

I’m really disappointed, my goal was to provide quality fruit at a fair price that is not normally available to most people and to raise some money for Rotary.

Mother Nature has delivered a curve ball yet again and I would much rather the club members received their money back than being disappointed with the fruit quality or late delivery or possibly both.

I appreciate that you folks as convenors have invested a significant amount of time and effort and I thank you very much for that.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and like me are looking forward to seeing the back end of 2021.

Thanks to Merv, Neville and John van Delft for their coordinated efforts at the tail end of the year.
