BOOK SALE 4th- 5th-6th.Sept. 2020.
Another outstanding success.
Fraser's Report.
"WHAT A TEAM" ( "And what a leader", editor's note)
As it transpired- us old geezers- and Geezerettes lifted and shifted all of the books before the heavy lifters arrived; as if just to prove that we are all not "past it." Yet?
626 Rotarian hours for the weekend.
Each year we have come up with subtle changes as to how we do things.
Mostly to do with easing the workload and also to do things more efficiently. Not to mention,- more profitably .
Major changes this year were-
- We put the boxes of books in categories before they went in the trucks and vans. This was very easy!
- We had a truck - covered- no tying down. (except Neville- "When I said we had a good spread of topics- I did not on mean - on the road.")
- We had good helpers - Rugby club, Saddle-hill Com. Trust, Scouts and volunteers.
- We had bulk deals for shopping bag lots for $20.00.
- Regent - took all the books we didn't sell at the end of the sale- A limited selection was retained.
- We exceeded our budget- so we must be doing something right. (Of course you did Fraser don't be so humble and beat yourself up.)

Now for the future!
Those who want to keep doing the same thing, year after year,- you may be left behind- because the world will go round you!.
- We will not continue sorting and stacking the way we have been in the past.
- THIS IS NOT AN IMPOSITION - THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY.
- Already- Some members have come up with some very good ideas.-but we will hold those thoughts until later when they gel a bit more.
I wis
h to thank the members, who without exemption put in great effort and a lot of time to make this happen.
