An important announcement
The first Conference for District 9999 will be held in Oamaru over the weekend of Friday 24th March - Sunday 26th March 2023.
Governor Elect Jan Boustead extends an invitation to all Rotarians to attend the conference which will be held in the Oamaru Opera House.
The conference Team has been planning the conference for some months now and in partnership with the Rotary Club of Oamaru are in the final stage of arranging an interesting programme for you.
During the weekend there will be an opportunity to explore the Old area of Oamaru, visit places of historical interest, visit one of only two castles in the South Island, a motor workshop, a working dairy farm, as well as the quarry that supplied the limestone blocks that feature in many of the Oamaru Buildings.
Conference Registration.
Registration will be online and we expect that you will be able to register from September.
Conference Accommodation.
A recent survey of Motel and Hotel accommodation showed that there are over 400 beds available in Oamaru. All Motels and Hotels have been advised of the forthcoming Conference have advised a “Conference Rate” for the weekend.
See attached schedule for Motels and rates. Please note the rates quoted are for bookings made directly with the Motels. Do not Book through Booking Dot Com.
Now that the Government have advised the borders will re-open in July 2022 we would encourage you to make bookings now. The “Alps to the Ocean Cycle Trail” finishes in Oamaru and moteliers have indicated that they are expecting to take bookings for March shortly.
