President's Message

Hi Team,

Hi everyone,
A quick thanks to all who attended the last meeting. A special thanks to our guests Joe, Jason, Ben and Ollie for coming along to see what the Milton Rotary is about.
Another thanks goes out to Craig for speaking on behalf of the Otago South River Care and talking about some of the wonderful things like working with the local primary schools teaching environmental care and catchment area groups on riparian restoration.
Steve McLay talked a bit about the how meetings as we know it are changing and becoming more accessible due to the likes of Zoom or Teams.
A thank you was received to the Milton Rotary from the Tokomairiro Recreation Centre for the donation towards air conditioning units in their spaces, this was very much appreciated.
A reminder from Leanne regarding the RYLA trip 2023 which is fast approaching. This is an amazing opportunity for youth to get involved in learning leadership skills through a block course held early next year.
Just a reminder that on the 1st of July 2022, Milton Rotary club will come under D9999.
The guest speaker this next meeting will be Andrew Tiffany who has just recently returned from overseas back to New Zealand.
A special mention regarding Bob Jack whose funeral was held last week. Bob was a long standing member of both the Milton Rotary Club and Milton Community and will be sadly missed. A thank you to Peter Keddell for stepping in late notice for Rob Wilton, doing the eulogy on behalf of the Milton Rotary Club. You would swear it was Rob that was actually speaking.
Cheers everyone, be safe out there. Colin
Regards
Colin Calteaux
