Kathy Austvold gave our invocation and Keith Olson led us in song. Brian Tjaden introduced as his guest Tracey Brumfeld from Leighton Broadcasting. Salvation Army bell ringing was discussed and two days of it has since occurred, this past Friday and Saturday, with all slots for this coming Friday also filled. Kathy made an announcement on programs going forward starting in January, with the group or team responsible for set-up and take-down for a given month also assigned the duty to obtain speakers for meetings during their month. The hat to raise money for the Rotary Rose Bowl Float Parade was passed again and we have sent in $97.00 toward the costs of planning and constructing this year's Rotary float (with a theme of "Rotary--Changing Lives Through Education.") No one noticed that last week's e-Rounds indicated there was included a picture of Rotarians enjoying Pints for Polio at Fergus Brewing on December 3rd but that the picture was nowhere to be seen; the responsible culprit fined himself. Keith Olson fined himself for having been in the picture that did not appear in the e-Rounds but bragged about the great time he had with other Rotarians and spouses. Randy Kempfer fined himself for missing a meeting to enjoy a family trip to Disney World and Keith Olson noticed the fancy stockings Randy was wearing to the meeting, which ultimately resulted in Randy showing all of us his classy foot coverings. The Hillcrest Vocalise under the direction of Jonathan Clark with Lynette (missed her last name) as pianist entertained us with four Christmas carols. The group consisted of seven girls and six boys who introduced themselves after one of the selections. They did a great job and we thanked them for taking the time and making the effort to share their talents with us. |
