In Bob's Own Words: The Central Lakes Club has been my Rotary home for 20 years. It often referred to as “the little club that does…” with a great group of fun, generous, engaged members. In addition to the activities and roles I have enjoyed in Rotary over the years (see list below), I have actively volunteered throughout my career with numerous committees and boards; most recently St Scholastica Monastery, various roles with Essentia Health, the Resilient Region Initiative, and many Community & Business Advisory Boards. Over 40 years ago, I started my career at West Publishing, the preeminent legal information-technology company in the United States, serving in a variety of roles and progressing to National Director of Market Development for their online system, WESTLAW. In 1996 West became a part of Thomson/Reuters. I was a member of the leadership transition team; post transaction. From April 1998 through December 2019, I worked with the founders of the Resilient Living Campus, Paul & Lynn Hunt; first as head of Hunt Technologies Sales and Marketing and now as Chief Operating Officer of their research company Hunt Utilities Group LLC and Principle Executive Officer of the 501c3, Resilient Living Council (Happy Dancing Turtle).
An advocate of a healthy vibrant community and life-long learning, I have participated in and/or helped organize forums on Business and Finance, Economic Development; even a couple of TEDx. Academically, my undergraduate degree is in Business with a minor in Psychology from St. John’s University with an MBA from The University of St. Thomas. My lovely bride, Terri, spent the first 30 years of her career as a teacher, including Spanish. Active in Mission work, she went back to school to get her nursing degree so she could do (even) more. On June 18, 2020, she became a charter member of the Rotary e-Club to End Human Trafficking!!! We have four wonderful adult sons; all participated in RYLA during high school. We enjoy the lake region of Minnesota and its wonderful quality of life with biking, kayaking, and welcoming people.
