Wally Cole offered our invocation. President Anthony then announced that the soonest we will be able to return to meeting at the YMCA will be after its summer day care program ends, meaning most likely in September. Brian Tjaden thanked everyone who participated in Radio Days, which raised $3,000 to $4,000, all of which will be donated to the United Way Back Pack program. Tim Hunt was the first to announce he would check off his brag and fine card once he received another one; I somehow forgot to write down what Tim bragged about, so I will mark off a spot on the new one Brian Tjaden promised to send to me and to anyone who let him know it was needed. (Was Tim bragging about filling his first one? Let me know as then I won't need to check off a spot on mine when received.) Kathy Austvold had much happiness to share, having attended a live stream of her nephew's graduation from Messiah University in central Pennsylvania, which also happens to be Kathy's and her brother's (?) alma mater. Wally Cole had a two part brag as well, indicating he had a good time working with Brian Tjaden at the shredding collection site the previous Saturday and appreciated Brian then coming over to Wally's house to show him how to start downloading Rotary files onto a flash drive; Wally started out with 1044 files and he is down to 644. Once this effort is completed, Wally's club records dating back to 2006 will be digitalized! Keith Olson then indicated he and Steve Leitte would be at the Community Garden later that afternoon, singing "Green Acres" while tilling the soil. (I drove by the next day and the lines were straight as an arrow -- a job well done! There were also discarded ear plugs on the side of the road, but I by no means am taking a swipe at anyone's singing ability as some others have been known to do.) This writer than asked a series of questions of the 16 Rotarians in attendance that will hopefully help in planning for the next Rotary year. Those questions are as follows: 1. Since the end of 2018, what has made your membership in our club meaningful? 2. Since the end of 2018, what has made your membership in our club memorable? 3. Are you willing to commit more time and effort to the service and fellowship opportunities available in our club? 4. If there was one thing you could change about our club meeting, besides going back to being in person, what would it be? 5. Do you believe the monetary cost to you of Rotary (including dues, Rotary Foundation Minute Plus Insurance, brags and fines insurance, contributions to fund raisers, and any other dollars you may may put out for Rotary is: a. too much; b. about right; or c. could be more under the right circumstances. 6. If we had one meeting every three months to just talk amongst ourselves about our Rotary Club in some form or another, would: a. you be less likely to attend just because there was no program; b. your attendance would not be affected by this being the announced purpose of the meeting; or c. you would be more likely to attend. 7. Have you ever opened up My Rotary on the Rotary International website and registered a user name and password? 8. Have you ever visited the Rotary District 5580 website? 9. Have you ever looked at our Club's Clubrunner website? 10. If you had to bring your own lunch to our Club meetings one to three times al month would your attendance be likely to: a. stay the same; b. go down; or c. improve Those present responded via the Chat function of Zoom and their responses have been accumulated. I would ask anyone who was not in attendance to answer the same questions by e-mailing me at robert@russelllawoffice.com and simply put the number that corresponds to the question and your answer on the e-mail -- no need to enter the actual question.
