Hello Fellow Rotarians of District 5580:
As November draws to a close with its theme of FOUNDATION, it is good to reflect on how Rotarians of District 5580 are "Doing Good in the World" through their support of The Rotary Foundation (TRF). Though our work for this Rotary year continues we have received club recognition from TRF for 2019-2020 and rather than wait for the district conference to announce these noteworthy recognitions it seems fitting to share them during Foundation month. Related banners and certificates that accompanied the notification from TRF will be forwarded to the recognized clubs.
Top Three Highest in Per Capita Annual Giving: With over 35,000 clubs in the Rotary World, only 1,550 clubs achieve this honor.
In the 2019-2020 Rotary Year the top 3 in District 5580 are:
#1 Central Lakes - Pequot Lakes, MN with per capita of $584.18
#2 Nipigon, ON with per capita of $208.04
#3 Grand Rapids Centennial, MN with per capita of $171.59
Every Rotarian, Every Year Club: Of the Rotary clubs worldwide, only 3,400 club attain this status (clubs must achieve a minimum Annual Fund contribution of $100 per capita with 100% participation by dues paying members contributing $25 or more to the Annual Fund.)
In the 2019-2020 Rotary Year three clubs earned that distinction: Fergus Falls, Fergus Falls Sunrise, and Williston.
100% Foundation Giving Club: Of the Rotary clubs worldwide, only 4,000 clubs reach this level (clubs must achieve a minimum contribution of $100 per capita with 100% participation of dues paying members contributing $25 or more any of the following; Annual Fund, PolioPlus Fund, approved global grants, or the Endowment Fund.
In the 2019-2020 Rotary Year five clubs earned that distinction: East Grand Forks, Fergus Falls, Fergus Falls Sunrise, Nipigon, and Williston.
End Polio Now recognizes clubs that contributed at least $1,500 to Rotary's eradication efforts.
In the 2019 - 2020 Rotary Year twenty clubs earned this Certificate of Appreciation: Bismarck, Bismarck Far West, Brainerd, Central Lakes, Cloquet, Detroit Lakes, Dickinson, Duluth, Duluth Harbortown, Ely, Fargo-Moorhead AM, Fargo-West, Fergus Falls, Grand Rapids, International Falls, Moorhead, Nipigon, Perham, Thunder Bay - Lakehead, Wahpeton Breckenridge.
The combined giving of clubs and district contribution of 20% of our District Designated Funds brought our total giving for Polio to $118,221.
This is an outstanding accomplishment by clubs/Rotarians across District 5580. Your generosity in the 2019 - 2020 Rotary year is a real inspiration as we endeavor forward, Doing Good in the World this year.
