The Wellington North Rotary Scholarship Trust
(Incorporating the Ian Crabtree Bequest)
The Rotary Club of Wellington North offers a number of study grants (scholarships) each year through the Scholarship Trust.
The Trust was formed in 1992 by the Club, with the aim of assisting individuals who can demonstrate financial hardship with the cost of tertiary education, vocational training or the development of life skills.
The grants are available to students from the Greater Wellington Region but can be utilized for study in any institution. In some cases, the grant may cover aspects of overseas study.
The Trustees invite applications from individuals within the Wellington region who, because of financial hardship, need assistance to enable them to undertake a tertiary or vocational education programme or a life skills course.
The Trustees will take account of financial hardship, academic records, and community service and sporting achievements.
Greater Wellington Region includes the following areas: Carterton, Masterton, South Wairarapa, Upper Hutt, Lower Hutt, Porirua, Kapiti and Wellington.
Twenty or more scholarships may be awarded annually. Awards may vary between $1,000 and $7,000 in value each year, depending on individual circumstances.

The closing date for applications is 31 October 2024. Candidates must complete an application using the Universities NZ online scholarships application website:
Please note that the application form gives equal consideration to applications for university, polytechnic, vocational, or life skills training, and that all applications will be considered by a Wellington North Rotary selection panel, independent of any university or other teaching institution.
