Dr Ralph Chapman, Associate Professor of Environmental Studies at Victoria University and a co-director of the New Zealand Centre for Sustainable Cities, on the subject of transport and urban planning for sustainable cities.

A former economic analyst/manager with Treasury, Ralph will discuss what sort of changes might be needed to meet the Paris climate goals and the rationale for more intensive forms of housing and more compact towns and cities. Ralph and his colleagues have plenty of case studies up their sleeve from New Zealand and abroad. He'll welcome your questions on how this all might work in practice, and what it might mean for Wellington, including the spatial plan.
