Club News

Rotary International Sister Clubs

International sister clubs are long-term partnerships between clubs in different countries. These relationships promote international understanding and goodwill through collaborative service projects, built on shared interests and mutual learning.

Our club has enjoyed such partnerships, through William Somerville, with Meppen, Germany, and Makati South, Philippines. Friendships and exchange visits led to joint projects—from hosting cultural visits in Berlin and supporting initiatives in Manila and Lautoka, to revitalizing housing and clean water projects in Makati South. These connections enrich our community and foster lasting global friendships.

Help needed for planting the Tree of Remembrance

Later this month, Jean Phipps is planning to plant the Tree of Remembrance from last Christmas. This is an annual fundraiser for KidsCan. People’s messages about loved ones will be buried under the tree. Jean just needs a volunteer to wield the shovel. If you can help, contact Jean on jean@phipps.nz.
