It's time for our annual changeover!
The 2025-2026 Board with President Lynn will hand over to the 2026-2027 Board with President Suzanne Snively.
We'll recognise currrent member who have provided invaluable service to Rotary by presenting them as a Paul Harris Fellow.
We also have 2 inductions bringing our membership to 88, up from around 60 at 1 July 26!
Our speaker is Chair of the JR Mckenzie Trust. Our club has a very close association with the JR McKenzie Trust. The founder and his son were past Presidents of our club. Rotary is represented on the Trust and our club has its own Trustee - currently Janice Wilson.

News from the Board
A BIG THANK YOU to your Board for their service this year- to Allan Frost, Denise Church, Janice Wilson, Joan Smith, John Boshier, Lee Wilkinson, Nick Hurley( to December 25), Roger Blakeley, Suzanne Snively and Lynn McKenzie. Ably supported by Julie Haggie, Derek Gill, Peter Steel, Anthony Scott, Ben Mack, Duncan McDonald, John Rowe and the Registration Desk, Jane McCann, George Fairbairn, Stuart Brooker, the Membership Ginger Group, Community Service Committee and all others who have made our year so enjoyable! Allan will finish his term as Treasurer and has done an amazing job. He will continue on as the Chair of the Community Service Committee.
Our last Board meeting is on Wednesday 15 June where we are being asked to approve the terms of reference for the Membership Committee, the budget for the Rotary Wellington Satellite Club - Literacy for Life amongst other items.
We'll also be reflecting on the year that has been - phenomenal membership growth, a new satellite Club, a full year at our new venue, another successful Guess Who is Coming to Dinner, Jumbo Tennis with $ raised and distributed, Getting to Know you - with Shells at William, Predator Free Wellington, Theatre as part of the Festival, Opera, Blossom - and more!
Please come to Changeover on the 22nd of June to celebrate our year and bring in the 2026- 2027 year!!

Our club has a long association with the Wellington City Mission and are a regular donor to the Christmas toy appeal, volunteering in their Christmas Shop and donating a medical room and electric van for our centennial. Our Cans for a Cause were donated to them at our last meeting. They opened a new amazing facility in 2024
The City Mission houses a social supermarket, dentist medical centre, cafe, chapel, community showers and laundry and is home to 35 Supported Transitional Housing apartments. All off Adelaide Road near the Basin Reserve. Come!
Donate warm clothing for the homeless to the Soup Kitchen
Our Club is collecting warm clothing for members of our community struggling with housing instability (women and men): - Warm hats/gloves - Jerseys & trousers - Parkas and warm outdoor jackets (not coats though)

Guess Who is Coming to Dinner
Saturday, 3 October
Hold the date!!
An evening of fun, great food and company. The "guess" is that it we gather at a member's home, we don't know who the host is and who our dinner companions will be. A must come event - a chance to learn a more about members. Partners very welcome.
The date is especially chosen, as it does not clash with any sporting event!

Rotary Beyond Our Club
Support the Rotary Foundation - make your impact count! please donate by 15 June
The Foundation enables Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, particularly for women and children, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. For example, in our District we have been:
a) immunising children in the Pacific Islands
b) supporting children in hospital and mental health facilities
c) improving orthopaedic surgery in Tonga
d) continuing the battle against polio
The continued support of each Rotary Club and its individual club members is essential for this work. If you have already donated, thank you for your support.

Rotary's Lifting the Lid Programme - Youth Mental Health Fundraisers
Three fundraisers to support Wellington youth with mental health issues. Our club has donated money to this programme that funds schools to provide youth mental health services to Intermediate and Secondary Schools in Wellington.
The South Wairarapa Rotary Club's fundraiser with all proceeds supporting Lifting the Lid.
Rotary will run sausage sizzle stalls at the Greytown Mid-Winter Festival on opening night, 27 June,and closing night, 25 July, from 3 to 8pm. If any Rotarians from your clubs are nearby, we would love them to stop by and say hello.
A cake stall in Greytown with Kuranui College at the Cobblestone Victorian Christmas Market on 18 July, from 10am to 3pm, We hope this will raise awareness of the programme and strengthen our work with the College.
Join us and be part of our QUIZ TEAM. Last year we won it - it was fun and all for a great cause- Rotary's Lifting the Lid- a mental health programme for Intermediate and High Schools in Wellington.
