Tree of Remembrance

In support of Heart Kids

Can you help for a three hour slot? Undercover in Moore Wilson complex

Saturday, 29 Nov to Saturday, 6 Dec 10-4.00pm

We have a Xmas tree. People donate to Heart Kids, write messages to missing loved ones and tie a yellow ribbon to the tree. This can be quite moving. In the growing season next year, the messages are planted in a canister under a newly planted tree on Mt Vic.

If you can help please contact Jean Phipps on 021 248 1717 or phipps@phipps.nz.

Bring unwrapped items for the City Mission to our meetings on the 1st and 15th of December

Please bring your donations for the City Mission to our December meetings.

What to donate?

- Unwrapped toys or gifts for kids from 0 to late teens
- Food (like Rotary Christmas Puddings!)

Toys, etc find their way to the Toy Shop at the Mission that we volunteer for. The Mission also forwards them onto other organisations in Greater Wellington. Thanks heaps.

Rotary Beyond Our Club
Karori and Wellington North Rotary Clubs to merge

The Rotary Club of Karori has served the local community for over 40 years and is merging with the nearby Rotary Club of Wellington North. This union combines the strengths and skills of both clubs to better support Karori, Khandallah, and the wider communities.
We wish the new combined club great success in its future endeavours.
Board Update

AGM - New constitution and bylaws

Thanks to all our members who attended the AGM on 17 November and voted to accept the new constitution and bylaws.  We will now complete the necessary lodging of documents and once these are approved the constitution and bylaws will take effect. Big thanks to Derek Gill, Julie Haggie, Allan Frost, Helen Algar and Past Presidents for getting us here.

19 November Board meeting

At this month's meeting we will consider the proposed RCW Trust budget for the year, noting that the Trust is proposing it invest $65,000 in local, national and international projects and grants - a substantial portion of this is directed to youth projects/programmes including Lifting the Lid and the Democracy Programme, Rotary Youth Leadership Programmes.

Approximately $10K has been tagged for new projects. We have received funding applications from the Community Service Committee (CSC) and a Rotary District Global Grant Proposal for early childhood support in Timor-Leste (East Timor).
