There are three changes to this week's schedule. Our Board meeting has changed from Wednesday at 4:00 to Zoom only held on Thursday at noon. Our work project at the Hermantown Community Learning Center has changed from this Friday to next Wednesday due to the prediction of 80% chance of rain. We will not have a regular Friday meeting this week.
Welcome to our Club's newest member Adam Daoust!
Wednesday the 21st we will get an early start on the Stage/Shelter project at the Hermantown Community Learning Center at 4333 Hawk Circle Drive and work through the day. Materials will be delivered to the site on the 20th. We have sets of plans thanks to Trish. The footings were being installed last Friday when Tom and I visited the site. Chris has 4:30 tee times scheduled at Nemadji so that will determine the project stopping time for golfers. Let Chris know if you plan on golfing.
Next Friday, September 23rd we will be back at the YMCA and our speakers will be Dr. Tom Morgan and Phil Anderson speaking on Setting Sail to End Nuclear Weapons. We will do a highway Clean up following the meeting. Duties will be: Invocation - Mark, Fellowship - Ross Peterson, and Greeter - Tim Leutgeb.
Last Friday our guests were Chuck Voss, Dan Dock, Sarah from Proctor Schools, and our speaker Kristal Berg. Trish Crego and Kristal Berg told us about the project at the Hermantown Community Learning Center that our Club will build. It is part of a fenced in playground adjacent to the Center up the hill from our Outdoor Classroom and next to the tennis courts. The Community Center is an Early Childhood Family Education Center. Approximately 100 kids ages 2-5 years old will use this space. The space is also intended to be open for the community to use.
Upcoming Rock the Skyline Committee Zoom meetings will be at 4:00 on 9/21, 10/5, 10/12, 10/19, and 10/26.
Marshall School wants to restart their Student Rotarian program so Tim and Russ will be speaking to them.
This week Mark and Lisa will be attending the Zone 25/29B Institute in Minneapolis on Thursday through Saturday. We hope to learn about Membership and Public Image from some of our most informed Rotarians. RI President-Elect, R. Gordon Mclnally from South Queensferry, Scotland will be in attendance.
September is Basic Education and Literacy Month.
