We will meet this Friday 10/23. Duties are invocation by Russ, and fellowship by Mark. Our program will be by Blake Eaton who is a Paralympian and World Cup downhill skier from Proctor.
This Thursday the 22nd is the October Meat Raffle from 6-8:00 PM at the Bent Paddle Taproom. Come help, hungry, and enjoy the fun.
The World's Largest Polio Walk will be at 10:00 this Saturday the 24th at Wade Stadium. Walking distance is according to ability. There will be food and music so bring your family and show your support for ending Polio.
Trunk and Treat will also be this Saturday, but Russ says that it goes until noon so come after the Polio Walk and share some sweets at the Valley Youth Center 5808 Grand Ave.

Jason awarded a Paul Harris Fellow for Joe to give to his brother Frank. Todd has raffle tickets for Northern Lights Foundation. Jim and Anita will be grandparents!
Pat Greehan from DEVO started by talking about the dilemma of that paernt's face with youth sports; the cost, the time commitment, and the falloff of enthusiasm if kids don't excel. Youth sports is now a $40B industry. Gone are the days of pick up baseball games at the local park. DEVO povides opportunities to ride mountain bicycles as a group in both non-competitive and racing from grades 2 through 12, and serves over 300 young people. The two pathways are Adventure and Competition. The club member gets to choose which if they want to just ride or to race. Professional trainers work with both groups of riders. Their mission is Helping Youth Build Strong Bodies and Minds Through Mountain Biking. What a great organization to have in a place like Duluth which is known for its great biking trails and downhills.
The Twin Ports Clubs Foundation Celebration will be held on November 4th at the Kitchi Gammi Club. Doors will open at 5:00 with social hour and heavy hors d oeuvres on the main floor. At 6:15 we will move up to Great Hall for the program. Keynote speaker will be Tim Mulcrone, the District 5950 Polio Chair and member of the Chanhassen Club. Please save the date and plan to attend.
It is Rotaract season again at UMD and UWS. The local Clubs will help to support them. A Twin Ports Clubs Thanksgiving lunch is planned for Wednesday, November 25th at the Gitch. There will be a signup online. It will include a fundraiser for the Salvation Army.
The November 12 cooking class and dinner at Duluth Grill that will be a Skyline Social is now full.
November is Rotary Community Economic Development Month.
