We will meet this Friday 7/11 at the YMCA. Our program will be a presentation by new RI President Francesco Arezzo from the recent RI Convention in Calgary. There is an interesting backstory. Duties this week are: Invocation - Suzanne, Fellowship - Rob, Lunch - Greg Kaake.
The July Board meeting is tomorrow Wednesday, 7/9 at The Depot at noon. Lunch will be provided. Any member is welcome to join us.
It was a great Skyline Rotary week. The Changing of the Guard and a great turnout and effort for the set up of the Air Show. Skyliners are hard workers. Congratulations to Jason as our Rotarian of the Year!
Next week Thursday the 17th from 5-7:00 is the Block Party at the YMCA as part of Hermantown Summerfest. There are plenty of opportunities to help. Talk to Kevin or Emily. Let's have a good showing to let people know who we are, what we do, and why they should come join us.
Sad news. Sandy Norman, Karl Norman's wife passed away. Karl and Sandy were a great couple. Her visitation is 7/11 5-7:00 at Dougherty Funeral Home. Service is 7/12 at 11:00 at St. Michael's Church.

Skyline Rotarian Amy Hietapelto has moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan to become Dean of the College of Business at Eastern Michigan University. At UMD she rose from the Dean of the Labovitz School of Business and Economics to Interim Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. She is a great leader and will be missed by UMD and by our Club.
Past Skyliner and friend of the Club (especially at Peach time) Tim Sundstrom has been promoted to Manager of Mangers for Sam's Club and has moved to the Cities. He will be missed by our community.
It is time to start getting psyched about selling peaches. Peach tickets are available. Let's have peach t-shirts and peach signs for the Hermantown Summerfest Block Party so that people know that we are Skyliners.
The Valley Youth Center Gopher GOLPH Classic wiil be held Friday, August 1st 9:00 shotgun start at Nemadji. Mark, Tom, Kevin, and Joe are playing.
I heard from PDG Kay Biga that the Pachel Foundation she manages will be sponsoring a night at the Duluth Playhouse again this Fall on September 11. The musical will be "Million Dollar Quartet" set on December 4, 1956 at Sun Records in Memphis when Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Elvis Presley had a jam sesssion. This will be free to Rotarians and guests. Be there or be square.
July is Rotary International New Leadership Month. Quality leadership is critical to the success of any organization. Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) takes place 7/12-19 at the U of M Crookston campus.
